About Us

Who We Are

In 1968, Bethel Baptist Church established the ministry of Upper Bucks Christian School. UBCS began as a Kindergarten class of 12 students. Each year, the school added more classes, slowly expanding their program. In 1972, UBCS saw the need to provide a day care and preschool program. Since that time, Upper Bucks Christian School and Day Care has continued to provide Christian childcare and early childhood education. Our experienced staff has served together for many years, with a third of them having worked with us for at least 15 years. It is our privilege to have served hundreds of families over that time. We are always excited to have families return and allow us the opportunity to care for a second generation of their family.

What We Believe

The Bible tells us that God has created each person with unique personalities, skills, strengths, and learning styles. Because of this, we believe it is our responsibility to meet a child where he/she is at and help him/her take the next appropriate developmental or academic step. We strive to produce learning experiences through various teaching methods and techniques to account for variety in learning styles and stages that are found in each classroom. We endeavor to provide a biblical foundation through our actions, philosophies, and daily lessons. Early childhood care and education lay the stepping stones for future academic success. We foster age-appropriate independence as children grow, allowing for confidence as children walk into elementary classrooms.

While children are under the care of UBCS Day Care, it becomes our responsibility to team with parents in a way that provides for continuity in meeting the needs of the whole child. Staff is trained and drilled on safety procedures, and a safety committee meets on a regular basis to ensure all measures are up-to-date. Communication between home and school is a crucial part of the process of seeing a child succeed. We strive to facilitate this important communication by providing the Brightwheel Communication App and maintaining child portfolios. We are thankful for parents affording us the opportunity to not only work with their children but to develop a relationship with their family. Supporting parents is an important part of helping children thrive.
